Alysha Wimberly
Mrs. Louisiana United States 2006
Alysha Black Wimberly is the 34 year old wife of Jesse L. Wimberly III, a local attorney for 28 years. Alysha and Jesse have three boys, Jacob, Brandon and Jesse. Besides being a wife and mother, Alysha's lifelong passion has been singing. At the age of eight she began singing solos at her local church. As a teenager she continued to sing in churches across the state and continued with her formal vocal training. At the age of 15, she won first place in the state of Louisiana for Lead Soloist. Alysha was also competing in pageants from the age of three and used her titles to be able to travel across Louisiana, attending state wide Fairs and Festivals, having the opportunity to sing even more. She continues to sing at charitable and political events and still hopes to one day receive a recording contract. Alysha is also an advocate for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, which is the largest organization in the United States that raises money for the funding of medical technology and research for a cure to Type I Diabetes. After the loss of her sister, Sybyl, in October, 2001, she has dedicated much of her time to this organization. Her local chapter has asked that she be the spokesperson for their group and sing the National Anthem at Audubon Park, in November 2006, for their annual Walk to Cure Diabetes Annual Fundraiser. Alysha's group hopes to raise over $20,000.00 for the walk. She is very proud that her three boys will be a part of the "Mrs. Louisiana United States Team" for this event. She has been very proud to be crowned Mrs. Louisiana United States 2006 and encourages the married women of this great state to compete for this title. She feels that this system will benefit the women of our state in so many ways, giving you a wonderful opportunity to make a difference in not only you and your families lives, but by giving you the chance to make a difference in so many other lives too. Alysha looks forward to seeing everyone at the 2007 Mrs. Louisiana United States Pageant. |
